Air Force Brat & Fitness Fanatic, Renee Moore, Thrives at COLSA

Renee’s Background

Renee Moore grew up on various military bases as a proud Air Force brat. Her father served in the Air Force for 20 years, and her mother dedicated 32 years to the same branch. Renee’s childhood was shaped by the sense of community and resilience that comes with military life.

Renee’s Mother in USAF Service Dress Uniform

One of Renee’s most memorable experiences was living at Homestead Air Force Base. She loved her friends, the schools, and the tight-knit community there. Ironically, just one week before Hurricane Andrew struck, her mother received orders to Patrick Air Force Base, and the family moved. The hurricane completely leveled their old neighborhood—a powerful reminder of how life can change in an instant.

Why Renee Chose Cybersecurity as a Career Path

As an adult, Renee decided to stay close to family and attend college in Orlando. She earned both a Master of Science in Digital Forensics and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Florida. During her studies, she discovered her passion for cybersecurity through internships at the U.S. Federal Courthouse and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Initially, she aspired to become a Special Agent for DHS or the FBI, but she realized she could make an impact in cybersecurity locally.

Renee now has over a decade of experience in the field. Before joining COLSA Corporation, she worked as a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst and Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at OST Global. In that role, she developed expertise in compliance, risk management, FISMA, and eMASS, even leading her program to achieve a 3-year Authority to Operate (ATO). This experience perfectly complements her current role at COLSA, where she leverages her understanding of cybersecurity audits and what it takes to maintain a secure system.

Life at COLSA

Renee joined COLSA in 2022 as a Security Control Assessor. Her primary responsibilities include conducting detailed security control assessments, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with teams to enhance the organization’s security posture.

What Renee loves most about COLSA is its family atmosphere. She values the leadership that truly cares about its employees, the managers who support their teams, and the camaraderie among colleagues.

COLSA isn’t a place where people job-hop; it’s a place the team proudly calls home.

What Makes Renee, Renee

Outside of work, Renee is a proud wife and bonus mom. She married her husband in 2022, the same year she joined COLSA. After the passing of her mother in 2021, Renee found strength and healing through her husband’s support and the encouragement of her colleagues at COLSA. Her family is her cornerstone, and she cherishes every moment with them. She and her husband love to travel, and one of their favorite activities is hitting the trails on muddy ATV adventures.

Renee is also passionate about fitness and runs JazzCo Fitness, where she leads dance fitness classes, hosts challenges, and offers virtual sessions. She believes fitness should be fun and accessible, creating spaces where people can work out to their favorite hip hop, R&B, reggae, and old-school jams.

Traditional gyms never resonated with me, but JazzCo allows me to make fitness enjoyable for others.

Looking Ahead

Renee strives to grow with COLSA, continue creating wonderful memories with her family and friends, and inspire others to become the best versions of themselves. Whether through her work, fitness journey, or personal life, Renee is always looking for ways to make a meaningful difference. She is proud to be part of an organization that aligns with her values and fuels her passion for excellence.
