Jeff Bryant Reflects on His 27-Year Career of Growth at COLSA

COLSA hired Jeff Bryant as a Systems Analyst directly after graduating Athens State University. He has since worked at COLSA for 27 years.

After starting as a Systems Analyst, Jeff then worked as a Software Trainer for a contract COLSA had with the Space and Missile Defense Command.  After about a year, he was promoted and began working as the Property and Requirements Manager supporting the Advanced Research Center (ARC) contract, where he spent almost twenty years as a Project Manager in support of the ARC’s Systems Test Labs.

Jeff’s Current Role

In 2017, Jeff was asked to switch to COLSA’s Business Development department. “Now I am working as a Senior Capture Manager, primarily supporting our Federal Support Services Division. It’s an amazing job, and I have the pleasure of working with some tremendously talented people,” he says. In Jeff’s current job, he provides capture management support for new opportunities and new customers. He also works to support the retention of existing contracts.

“Having the opportunity to establish relationships with industry partners and new and/or existing customers is probably the most rewarding part of my job. Building teams and being able to represent and promote COLSA is definitely a highlight.”

In his second year supporting the Business Development group, Jeff was awarded COLSA Employee of the Year, which was a “tremendous honor and still a highlight” to Jeff.

“The culture at COLSA is the reason that I’ve been here my entire career. Working in Business Development allows me to interact with numerous companies, and while there are so many that have really good workplace cultures and reputations, to me, COLSA is completely unique and ‘Family of Professionals’ is not just a brand, it is a large part of the definition of what COLSA is.”

Jeff Off the Clock

Jeff has two kids, Emily (27) and Griffin (24), who he says are “the joy of my life. I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible and watching them become successful in both their personal and professional lives.”

In his free time, Jeff enjoys traveling, especially to places with amazing beaches and cultures. Over the past couple of years, he’s visited Aruba, the Bahamas, and Curacao. He enjoyed Curacao the most, as the beaches there were perfect for his most recent hobby, snorkeling. He hopes to keep traveling to new beaches and enjoying the (underwater) sights and food!
