The Importance of Jacob’s Work
Jacob (Jake) Turner is a Field Engineer and an Engineering Lead on COLSA’s Bounty Hunter contract, specifically on the Bounty Hunter Defensive Space Control System sustainment and development team. On the job, Jake provides technical expertise for the current Bounty Hunter version and development and test support for the pivotal Bounty Hunter 3.0 upgrade.
His nominator, Ted Henrich, COLSA’s VP of Systems and Software Engineering, praised Jake’s work as an Engineering Lead: “He has proven, time and time again, that he is an indispensable asset to our team, consistently exceeding expectations in his role, and working countless hours to resolve engineering challenges as they emerge. His leadership in coordinating the development of a detailed engineering plan to integrate 30 new antennas across all Bounty Hunter operational locations showcased his exceptional technical acumen and attention to detail.”
Not only was Jake praised for his leadership in testing, but he was also recognized for his tireless efforts in the field. Ted Henrich noted that Jake has been deployed to multiple locations to support Bounty Hunter sustainment and development, including a major effort to achieve the US Space Force’s stated objective to have remote operations initial operating capability by the end of this year.
