IT 508 Compliance

Throughout our history, COLSA has led the field in the development of new technologies and software tools designed to support and enhance access to electronic information and data. This leadership extends to the development of solutions for those users with sensory, motor, and neurological disabilities that impair their ability to access information and data.

In 1998, the Rehabilitation Act was amended to require Federal agencies to make electronic and information technology accessible to people with disabilities and to give these users and members of the general public equal
access to electronic information assets.

COLSA supports this effort to provide access for all users of electronics and information technology. Our broad experience and capabilities in the world of systems integration and software development include: the software and
hardware expertise required to identify the technological tools and means to satisfy the criteria of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the expertise to introduce assistive technologies into integrated systems solutions, and the experience with legacy systems to ensure the successful integration of new assistive tools and processes into that environment.
